Profession: Independent Marketing Business Consultant

For over 20 years Paris Brown has been a business owner and an independent marketing business consultant focused on supporting and marketing business growth for new and emerging enterprises. Paris has forged opportunities in the United States retail market for international artisans. Her success is based on years of learning to understand consumer buying patterns, knowing the importance of collaborative relationships and spear-heading events that allows businesses to extend both their leverage and product exposure. She developed and initiated a major social/entrepreneurial alliance with Macy’s and the Striver’s Row neighborhood community as well as inspired ABC Carpet & Home in a store-wide launch and display of her client’s products on every floor of their New York flagship store. Her sales and marketing efforts has created opportunity for international artisans in major retail outlets such as Barneys New York, as well as be featured at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Natural History, Starwood Hotels and Walt Disney World, among others. Her clients include LEICHT USA, Design South Africa Initiative (Department of Industry and Trade, Republic of South Africa), Urban Diary TV International Film Festival, Kinshasa Symphony (Republic of the Congo).

 

Ms. Brown co-founded Twenty-First Century Group, Inc. (21st Century), a public relations and marketing firm with Adrian Lee Harpool. As president of 21st Century Group, her company created and launched the marketing concept for Ghana Airlines at the Baltimore/Washington Airport, created the first African American Tourism Guide for Baltimore and expanded the minority business directory for the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore with the support of Small Business Administration. 21st Century Group’s clients included American Heart Association, The Annie E. Casey Foundation, The Cordish Company (Hard Rock Café and Barnes & Noble), Housing Authority of Baltimore, State of Maryland and other local companies. Paris left 21st Century Group to pursue other endeavors.

 

Paris graduated from Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY). She holds a BBA in marketing and is also a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID).
