Eduardo D. Hayden is the Small Business Outreach Manager for the Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs. He is a native of Bogota, Colombia and moved to the U.S. in 1979. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida International University in 1996, and a Master’s of Science in Leisure Services Administration from Florida State University in 1998. Mr. Hayden had a successful career in banking for 8 ½ years, where we served the small business sector, including many Latin American businesses. Prior to his current post under Governor Hogan’s administration, Mr. Hayden spent the last 10 years working with Baltimore County Police Department as an Outreach Counselor and Hispanic Youth Liaison, where he created the LYON Program (Latino Youth Outreach Network), where he ran school based programs throughout Baltimore County serving the Latino youth population. His program was awarded the 2012 Governor’s Crime Prevention Award for Outstanding Proactive Crime Prevention Programs in Maryland , and the 2012 Baltimore County Police Foundation award for Crime Prevention. Prior to his work with the Baltimore County Police, Mr. Hayden also worked for the state of Maryland’s Child Protective Services. Mr. Hayden was also the co-owner of Advertais.com, a boutique Hispanic Media firm specializing in outreach to the Hispanic market, which he helped his brother and former partner launch, and which he still serves in an advisory capacity. Mr. Hayden also realized a life-long dream when he was selected a franchise professional soccer player in the late 90’s. Mr. Hayden believes his greatest achievement has been his beautiful wife and kids, and his opportunities to serve those in need.
